Belagavi, Karnataka – November 19, 2025: A woman was attacked with a machete inside a court in Athani, Belagavi district, on Monday, November 18, in what authorities believe is the culmination of a long-standing property dispute. Meenakshi Ramachandra Shinde, 50, was allegedly attacked by Babasaheb Chauhan, a relative and fellow litigant in a civil case concerning property ownership.

According to witnesses, Chauhan chased Shinde through the court premises before she sought refuge inside the courtroom. Police and onlookers intervened to rescue the bleeding woman. She was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment.
