Jordyn Woods Gifts Karl-Anthony Towns Touching Tribute to His Late Mother
NEW YORK, NY – New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns celebrated his 30th birthday in a memorable way, thanks to a heartfelt gift from his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods. Woods surprised Towns with a meticulously restored black 1990s Isuzu Trooper – the very same car his late mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, used to drive when he was a child.
The gift held deep sentimental value for Towns, whose mother passed away in April 2020 due to COVID-19 complications. Woods revealed in an Instagram post that the idea stemmed from a conversation the couple had over the summer, where Towns expressed his fondness for his mother’s old car.
Driven by the desire to recreate a cherished memory, Woods embarked on a mission to locate the specific vehicle, ship it across the country, and have it fully restored in time for Towns’ birthday. The Isuzu Trooper model was discontinued in 2002, making the search even more challenging.
Towns was visibly moved by the gesture, exclaiming “This s— is so fire. This is the best thing ever,” as he took the restored Trooper for a drive.
Woods and Towns began dating in May 2020 and publicly announced their relationship in September of the same year.
On the court, Towns is currently averaging 21.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for the Knicks. But on this birthday, the focus was on the personal connection and the enduring power of memory, proving that sometimes the most meaningful gifts are those that touch the heart.
