VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA – November 19, 2025 – A potential train accident was narrowly avoided in Pendurthi on Wednesday when an alert loco pilot spotted a leaning overhead equipment (OHE) pole obstructing the railway track. Two workers were injured in the incident.
The workers were engaged in welding on the pole when it unexpectedly began to slant towards the tracks. Fortunately, the driver of the Tata Nagar express noticed the obstruction and brought the train to a halt, averting a possible collision.
“The workers received an electric shock while they were welding the pole and sustained injuries,” railway sources confirmed.
