Tue Nov 18 15:25:33 UTC 2025: ## News Article: Government Warns TV Channels Against Aiding Unlawful Activities After Delhi Blast
New Delhi, November 18, 2025 – The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued an advisory to all private television channels today, urging them to exercise extreme caution in their reporting following the recent car bombing near the Red Fort in Delhi. The blast, which occurred on November 14th, resulted in multiple fatalities and sparked a national security concern.
The advisory comes in response to reports that some news channels have been broadcasting content related to the blast, including information about alleged perpetrators and, alarmingly, even “how-to” videos on manufacturing explosives. The Ministry expressed concern that such broadcasts could inadvertently encourage violence, disrupt public order, and pose a significant risk to national security.
“It has come to the notice of this ministry that some news channels have been broadcasting content related to alleged persons involved in Red Fort blasts, justifying their acts of violence, as well as information videos of how to make explosive material,” the official statement read.
The advisory reminds channels of their obligations under the Cable Television Network Rules, which prohibit the broadcast of obscene, defamatory, or deliberately false content, as well as programming that encourages violence, disrupts law and order, promotes anti-national attitudes, or threatens the integrity of the nation.
Specifically, the Ministry advised all TV channels to refrain from telecasting visuals that could aid, abet, or promote unlawful activities. This move aims to prevent the dissemination of information that could be used to replicate the Red Fort bombing or incite further violence.
