KALABURAGI – Over 300 students and educators from 70 schools across India will converge at Manik Public School in Maniknagar, Bidar district, from November 20th to 23rd for the 7th AFS India Member Schools national meet. Under the theme “Bridging Cultures – Building Futures,” the four-day event aims to cultivate young global citizens through intercultural learning, youth leadership development, and collaborative activities.

The meet, organized by AFS (formerly the American Field Service), a non-governmental organization promoting intercultural learning since 1947, will offer a blend of cultural immersion, service opportunities, and educational sessions.

Delegates will experience the local heritage with visits to the Manik Prabhu Temple and participate in a Dandiya performance with local communities. The schedule also includes addresses from prominent figures like Daniel Obst of AFS International and Jayant Harihar Lal, National Director of AFS India.

Students will engage in essay and poster displays, volunteer at a local gaushala, and explore the cultural and historical significance of Bidar Fort and a local Gurudwara. Principals and coordinators will participate in networking and discussion sessions, while students will enjoy traditional games designed to promote cooperation and cultural exchange.

The meet will conclude with a reflection session and a thanksgiving ceremony led by Shri Anandraj Manik Prabhu. Manik Public School authorities emphasized that the event reinforces AFS India’s mission of developing global citizens by providing practical intercultural experiences and leadership exposure to students and educators. The organization’s focus on experiential learning aims to build adaptability, empathy, and open-mindedness among young participants.
