Narasaraopet (Palnadu District), November 17, 2025 – Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu met with South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday to advocate for critical improvements to the railway infrastructure in the Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh. The meeting, held in Secunderabad, focused on addressing long-pending issues impacting public safety and connectivity within the region.

Mr. Lavu presented a detailed representation outlining the need for the swift completion of sanctioned Railway Overbridges (ROBs) at multiple level crossings, specifically requesting that tenders be fast-tracked and work begin immediately at LC No. 27 in Pedakurapadu, LC No. 40 in Sattenapalli, and LC No. 81 near Tummalacheruvu in Piduguralla mandal. He also requested approval for a new ROB at LC No. 53 in Bellamkonda.

Further highlighting safety concerns, the MP urged the relocation of LC Gate No. 294 between Girijavolu and Merikapudi villages, suggesting a move of 150 metres to improve visibility and reduce accident risks. Additional requests included the construction of a footpath and drainage at Macherla railway station, repairs to the approach road, enhanced basic amenities at Gurazala and Rentachintala stations, and the addition of coaches for the Macherla-Vijayawada MEMU train.

To improve connectivity, Mr. Lavu requested new train stoppages at Piduguralla, Pedakurapadu and Perecherla stations for several express services, including the Palnadu Express, Delta Express and Aurangabad-Guntur train. The MP concluded by stressing the need for enhanced security measures across the region, particularly for late-night travellers.

General Manager Srivastava responded positively to the requests, assuring Mr. Lavu that the SCR would give due consideration to the issues raised and take swift action.
