Mon Nov 17 16:40:00 UTC 2025: Denver Broncos’ Jaleel McLaughlin Primed for Opportunity After Dedicated Off-the-Field Work
DENVER – After a season spent largely on the sidelines, Denver Broncos running back Jaleel McLaughlin is set to see increased playing time this Sunday against the Chiefs, following a foot injury to workhorse J.K. Dobbins. Despite limited game-day reps, McLaughlin has impressed teammates and coaches with his relentless work ethic.
Veteran defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers noted McLaughlin’s constant dedication, often heading to the gym for extra workouts even after long days, despite welcoming a new daughter into his family during training camp.
Coach Sean Payton acknowledged the difficult decision to keep McLaughlin inactive for much of the season but emphasized the 25-year-old is “ready.” Payton highlighted McLaughlin’s commitment, recalling how he used to train on a hill at their facility. He noted that McLaughlin “has no ‘Plan B,’ and that’s pretty powerful.”
McLaughlin spent the offseason improving his strength and explosiveness, even purchasing a JUGS machine and old footballs to improve his pass-catching skills. Offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi acknowledged McLaughlin’s talent, citing third-down protection as a factor in previous decisions.
Now, with Dobbins sidelined, McLaughlin has a prime opportunity to prove his worth.
