Delhi Police Detain Three in Red Fort Blast Investigation

New Delhi – November 16, 2025 – Delhi Police have detained three individuals, including two doctors from Al-Falah University in Haryana, in connection with the deadly car explosion near the Red Fort on November 10th. The blast claimed 13 lives and triggered a multi-agency investigation.

The police’s Crime Branch has also filed two FIRs against Al-Falah University, citing cheating and forgery allegations flagged by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

The detained doctors, Mohammad and Mustakim, are reportedly linked to Umar ul Nabi, a doctor at the same university who has been identified as the driver of the explosive-laden vehicle. Investigators are also examining possible connections to Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, a doctor already arrested in connection with an alleged “white-collar terror module.”

A third individual, Dinesh alias Dabbu, was detained for illegally selling fertilizer. Police are investigating whether he supplied NPK fertilizer, a common bomb-making ingredient, to the suspects. The probe has revealed the terror module pooled around ₹26 lakh to buy explosives and spent ₹3 lakh out of it to purchase NPK fertilizer. Over 35 people have been questioned so far.

In related developments, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the reopening of gates 2 and 3 at the Lal Qila metro station. Gate 1 remains closed.
