Sun Nov 16 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Kraken Seek Redemption Against Sharks After Earlier Stumble
Seattle, WA – The Seattle Kraken are looking to avenge an earlier season loss as they face the San Jose Sharks tonight at Climate Pledge Arena. After a dominant 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Sharks last week, the Kraken (8-7-3) are aiming to reclaim their home ice advantage.
The Kraken have otherwise performed well at home with a 5-1-3 record, building a strong presence at Climate Pledge Arena. The only regulation loss on that home record? The Sharks.
Coach Lane Lambert is urging his team to be physical and win battles in the tough areas, mirroring their successful approach in Thursday night’s win against the Winnipeg Jets.
“They have a young, fast team,” Lambert said, “We will need to lay some extra body on them early and often when possible will go a long way towards slowing them down.”
The Kraken will be without Kaapo Kakko who is out with a lower-body injury. Jani Nyman is expected to draw back into the lineup. Freddy Gaudreau, deemed a “gametime decision,” participated in the morning skate.
The Sharks (8-7-3) are led by rookie Macklin Celebrini, who had a goal and two assists against the Kraken last week. He leads the team with 10 goals and 26 points.
The Sharks’ recent seven-game point streak was snapped by the Calgary Flames the other night. The Sharks have allowed two goals or fewer in eight of their last 10 games, making early scoring crucial for the Kraken.
With a potential five out of six points on this homestand at stake, the Kraken are eager to prove their growth and secure a crucial victory against a familiar foe.
