PROSPER, TX – The Argyle Lady Eagles are heading to the 5A Division II state final after a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the Frisco Liberty Redhawks on Saturday at Prosper Rock Hill High School. The win marks Argyle’s first state final appearance since their run of four consecutive 4A championship games from 2014-2017.
Frisco Liberty took the first set 25-23. But the Lady Eagles, undeterred, battled back to take the next three sets 25-20, 25-21, and 25-12, securing their spot in the championship game.
Senior Hannah Baker led the charge with 14 kills, while freshman Alexis Elsey contributed a team-high 17 kills and 15 digs. Junior Betsy Zhang added 11 kills and 22 digs, and junior setter Karsyn Rogers recorded a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs.
“We just decided to play for each other and play for our coaches, who have put everything on the line for us,” said Rogers.
