Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Stalin Highlights State’s Welfare Initiatives, Calls on Citizens to be ‘Brand Ambassadors’
SIVAGANGA, November 15, 2025 – Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin urged citizens to become “brand ambassadors” for the state government, citing its dedication to serving the people through various welfare schemes. Speaking at a welfare assistance distribution event in Singampunari, Sivaganga district, Stalin emphasized the success of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s initiatives, including free bus travel for women, the Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, Pudhumai Penn, and Tamil Pudhalvan, noting that they have garnered praise from leaders of other states.
He mentioned that the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Telangana expressed interest in launching similar programs in their respective states after witnessing the positive impact of the Tamil Nadu schemes. Stalin emphasized that these initiatives are not merely for appeasement but are crucial steps toward achieving social justice and equality.
According to Stalin, these efforts have propelled Tamil Nadu to achieve an 11.19% economic growth rate, placing it at the forefront of the country. He highlighted that approximately 1.50 crore women in the state have benefitted from the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, with 2.40 lakh women in Sivaganga district alone receiving assistance. He added that the scheme would extend benefit more women.
He emphasized the Chief Minister’s commitment to regularly reviewing the effectiveness of the schemes and their impact on those in need. Stalin said that this commitment has resulted in nearly all people in the State being the beneficiaries of at least one of the welfare schemes
During the event, Stalin announced the construction of a football stadium in Kottaiyur town panchayat at a cost of ₹1 crore, following requests from local residents. He also distributed welfare assistance worth ₹88.37 crore to 8,301 beneficiaries, inaugurated completed projects worth ₹17.80 crore, and laid the foundation for new projects valued at ₹3 crore.
Earlier in the day, he unveiled a bronze statue of former DMK minister S. Madhavan at the Pari Vallal Matric Higher Secondary School. Several ministers and the district collector were present at the event.
