‘Queen of Versailles’ Jackie Siegel Finds Faith After Recent Tragedies, Focuses on Saving Lives
ORLANDO, FL – Jackie Siegel, known as the “Queen of Versailles,” says she’s found a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection to God after a series of devastating losses in 2025. Within days of each other in April, Siegel lost her husband, Westgate Resorts founder David Siegel, to cancer at age 89, and her sister, Jessica, to an accidental drug overdose at 43. This follows the tragic loss of her daughter Victoria in 2015, who died at 18 from an accidental overdose.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Siegel described her grief as a “wake-up call,” prompting her to dedicate herself to drug awareness and prevention through her foundation, Victoria’s Voice. The foundation, inspired by her daughter’s diary, focuses on educating people about substance-use disorders and providing tools to prevent overdoses. David Siegel had also been committed to increasing access to naloxone, especially among law enforcement.
“I feel like with these losses that I’ve had, in some strange ways, got me closer to God,” Siegel said, explaining that she feels her purpose is to bring people together to save lives. She highlighted the impact of naloxone in Seminole County, where it has been administered hundreds of times, offering her strength and hope.
Siegel is also involved with Fentanyl Fathers, a group of fathers who have lost children to drug overdoses. She recently attended the Angel Ball in New York, supporting ocean conservation efforts.
Despite her grief, Siegel has celebrated the Broadway debut of “The Queen of Versailles,” a musical based on the 2012 documentary about her and David’s journey to build a massive Florida mansion. She noted that the musical, starring Kristin Chenoweth as Jackie, has been an inspiration and a way to bring her loved ones back to life.
Siegel says she believes everything happens for a reason and aims to learn from the bad experiences. She continues to focus on the positive and appreciates the good things in her life with a renewed sense of gratitude. She is also considering moving into the Versailles mansion in January.
