Fri Nov 14 05:10:00 UTC 2025: NDA Poised for Victory in Mithilanchal as Bihar Election Results Roll In
Patna, Bihar – Initial trends from the Bihar Assembly election show the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) surging ahead in the Mithilanchal region, with the majority of seats tilting in their favor. Counting began at 8 AM today, and early results indicate a strong performance by the NDA in this crucial region of the state.
Mithilanchal comprises the districts of Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, and Begusarai. All eyes were on the 37 assembly seats in these districts as the counting progressed.
As of 1:30 PM, trends across all seats have become clearer, with the NDA appearing set to win around 200 seats overall in the Bihar Assembly. The “Mahagathbandhan” alliance appears to be facing a significant setback.
Earlier in the day, at 11:30 AM, the NDA was leading in 32 out of the 37 Mithilanchal seats, while the Mahagathbandhan was only ahead in four.
A high-profile contest in the Alinagar constituency saw BJP’s candidate, singer Maithili Thakur, leading with a significant margin. As of the fifth round of counting, she had secured 19018 votes against RJD’s Vinod Mishra, who had 11185 votes.
Samastipur district painted a more mixed picture at 11 AM, with the NDA and Mahagathbandhan leading in five seats each out of the district’s total ten.
Key Highlights from Mithilanchal Districts:
- Darbhanga: NDA candidates were leading in most constituencies, including Kuseshwarsthan, Kewati, Alinagar, Gaura Bauram, Jale, and Darbhanga. RJD’s candidates were ahead in Bahadurpur and Darbhanga Rural.
- Madhubani: The NDA was leading in 8 out of 10 seats.
- Samastipur: JDU’s Vijay Kumar Choudhary was leading from Sarairanjan.
The election in Mithilanchal is crucial for both alliances. In the 2020 elections, the NDA secured victory in most of the seats in Madhubani and Darbhanga districts. However, Begusarai has been a challenging area for the NDA, where they lost several seats in the previous election. The establishment of the Makhana Board by the central government to benefit farmers in Darbhanga and Madhubani may have contributed to the NDA’s performance in this election.
As the counting continues, the final results will determine the balance of power in the Bihar Assembly and the future of the state’s governance.
