Chembai Sangeetholsavam to Begin November 16th in Guruvayur

Thrissur, India – November 14, 2025 – The annual Chembai Sangeetholsavam, a renowned Carnatic music festival, is set to begin this Sunday, November 16th, at the Guruvayur Sreekrishna temple in Kerala. The festival is held in remembrance of Carnatic music legend Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar and in conjunction with the Guruvayur Ekadashi celebrations.

The festival will kick off with the Sree Guruvayurappan Chembai Music Award ceremony, where the prestigious award will be bestowed upon musician Palkulangara K. Ambikadevi. The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Melpathur auditorium, presided over by Devaswom chairperson V. K. Vijayan and featuring a keynote address and a special concert by the award recipient.
