Patna, Bihar – Early trends from the Bihar Election 2025 vote counting indicate a mixed bag for key political figures. Tejashwi Yadav, the Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate, is currently leading in the Raghopur constituency. However, his brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), is trailing in the Mahua seat where Lok Janshakti Party’s Sanjay Kumar Singh is leading.

The election is also showing strong performances for cultural figures entering the political arena. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Maithili Thakur is dominating in Alinagar, potentially becoming the youngest MLA elected if current trends hold. However, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate and actor, Khesari Lal Yadav, is trailing in Chapra, with BJP candidate Chhoti Kumari currently in the lead.

As of the latest Election Commission updates, Janata Dal (United) is leading in 82 constituencies, closely followed by its ally BJP with 78 seats. Rashtriya Janata Dal is currently ahead in 34 constituencies, while Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading in 22. The Congress party has managed to secure a lead in seven seats.

Vote counting began at 8 am across the state, with results expected to unfold throughout the day. The final outcome will determine the next government of Bihar and the direction of the state’s future.
