Fri Nov 14 05:10:00 UTC 2025: NDA Leads in Bihar Assembly Elections, Mahagathbandhan Trails

Patna, Bihar – The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is surging ahead in the Bihar Assembly elections, according to the latest trends. The NDA, comprising the Janata Dal (United) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is leading in 196 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), is trailing with just 42 seats.

Counting began early Friday morning, with initial trends favoring the NDA. Celebrations have already begun within the NDA camp in Patna, while a somber mood prevails outside the residence of RJD leader Lalu Yadav.

Alongside the Bihar elections, results for by-elections in several other states and union territories are also being announced. The BJP has won the Nagrota seat in Jammu and Kashmir, while candidates from other parties lead in other regions.

The election has seen some notable candidates in the fray. BJP’s Maithili Thakur, a popular singer contesting from Alinagar, is leading by a significant margin. RJD’s Tej Pratap Yadav is trailing in the Mahua constituency.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has alleged “electoral conspiracy” as the reason for the NDA’s lead in Bihar.

With the NDA appearing poised to secure a comfortable majority in the 243-member assembly, all eyes are on the final results.
