Sun Nov 09 08:30:00 UTC 2025: Prince George Attends Festival of Remembrance with Royal Family

London, UK – Twelve-year-old Prince George joined King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, at the annual Festival of Remembrance held at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday evening. The event commemorated the lives lost in service, marking the eve of Remembrance Sunday.

The Royal Family, alongside Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria, received a standing ovation upon their entrance. This year’s festival held particular significance, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two and the 25th anniversary of the end of the ban on LGBTQ+ individuals serving in the armed forces, a history which was reflected upon during the event.

This is believed to be Prince George’s first time attending the annual concert. He was seated next to his mother, Catherine, who was seen wearing a handmade poppy of silk, glass, and other natural materials.

King Charles III will lead the nation in two minutes of silence on Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in central London, where he will be joined by other senior royals and political leaders in laying wreaths. Approximately 10,000 armed forces veterans, including around 20 veterans of World War Two, are expected to participate in the Royal British Legion’s march-past.

The Festival of Remembrance featured performances by Sir Rod Stewart and Sam Ryder, and was hosted by actress Hannah Waddingham, who honored her grandfather’s service in the Royal Navy. Several armed forces bands also performed. Attendees included veterans who were involved in planning D-Day and former prisoners of war, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ veterans charity, Fighting With Pride.

The Prince of Wales was absent from the event, as he was travelling back from Brazil.

Events will continue across the country on Remembrance Sunday, observed on the closest Sunday to Armistice Day (November 11th). The Prime Minister noted that the nation would pause to honor all those who have served their country, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to supporting veterans, their families, and those currently serving.
