Sat Nov 08 16:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Arsenal Eyes 11th Straight Win Against Sunderland, Arteta Shuffles Lineup

Wearside, England – Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made three changes to his starting XI for this evening’s Premier League clash against Sunderland. Ebere Eze and Martin Zubimendi return to the midfield, while Riccardo Calafiori retains his place at left-back, continuing his streak of starting every league game this season.

Zubimendi replaces himself after serving a suspension in Arsenal’s 3-0 midweek victory against Slavia Prague. Eze earns his sixth consecutive Premier League start. Calafiori is preferred over Piero Hincapie, who joins Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri on the bench. Nwaneri started in Prague.

Mikel Merino, who scored twice in Prague, continues to lead the line upfront with Viktor Gyokeres still sidelined. Kepa Arrizabalaga returns to the bench after missing the trip to the Czech Republic.

The Gunners are aiming for their 11th consecutive win across all competitions and are seeking a ninth successive clean sheet for the first time in their 138-year history.

Meanwhile, Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has named an unchanged lineup from their 1-1 draw against Everton, the same XI that defeated Chelsea a fortnight ago. This sees former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka captaining the Black Cats in his first appearance against his former club since his departure in the summer of 2023.

Sunderland XI: Roefs, Hume, Mukiele, Ballard, Geertruida, Mandava, Xhaka, Sadiki, Traore, Le Fee, Isidor.

Arsenal XI: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Rice, Eze, Saka, Trossard, Merino.
