Zarine Khan, Wife of Sanjay Khan and Mother of Sussanne and Zayed, Passes Away in Mumbai
MUMBAI, [Date – e.g., July 5, 2024] – Zarine Khan, wife of veteran actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan and mother to Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and actor Zayed Khan, passed away peacefully at her Mumbai residence on Thursday. She had been suffering from age-related ailments for some time.
The Khan family, deeply saddened by their loss, has requested privacy as they grieve.
Zarine Khan was a beloved figure in the Bollywood community, not only for her familial ties to prominent actors and designers but also for her own brief but memorable contribution to Hindi cinema. Before marrying Sanjay Khan in 1966, she appeared in classic films such as ‘Tere Ghar Ke Saamne’ and ‘Ek Phool Do Mali.’ Her romance with Sanjay Khan began with a chance encounter at a bus stop, a serendipitous meeting that led to a lifelong commitment.
Her children have often expressed the immense impact she had on their lives. In April, Zayed Khan poignantly shared, “Nothing, I mean nothing, can truly be achieved without your mother’s blessings.” Sussanne Khan, in a heartfelt birthday tribute earlier this year, wrote, “All that I do and all that I create in my life has to do with the way you formed my heart, my mind and my grit. I am so honoured and grateful to be your little girl.”
Zarine Khan is remembered for her grace, warmth, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love, family values, and cherished memories from Bollywood’s golden era. She is survived by her husband, Sanjay Khan, and their four children: Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan.
Funeral arrangements are private.
