Fri Nov 07 07:40:00 UTC 2025: Jimmy Kimmel Celebrates Democratic Wins, Mocks Trump’s Reaction on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Los Angeles, CA – Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel didn’t hold back on Wednesday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as he celebrated Democratic victories in recent elections and lampooned former President Donald Trump’s response.

Kimmel began his monologue noting that the Democratic party, in his opinion, “needed a big night,” referencing their previous poor performance this year. He highlighted several key Democratic wins, including Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral win in New York City, joking about how Trump-supporting family members would mispronounce Mamdani’s name at Thanksgiving.

The comedian didn’t spare Trump, pointing out that “everything he touched was a loser.” He poked fun at Trump’s excuses for Republican losses, quoting the former president’s claims that “Trump wasn’t on the ballot, and shutdown were the two reasons Republications lost elections tonight.” Kimmel sarcastically suggested that Trump would take credit if Republicans had won even without being on the ballot. He also made light of Trump’s “And so it begins” comment, joking it could’ve been a reaction to Mamdani’s win, or that Trump simply sat down on the toilet.

Kimmel addressed the recurring issue of election fraud claims, sarcastically noting that Republicans only seem to complain about fraud when they lose. He also criticized Trump’s alleged attempts to blame Democrats for the ongoing government shutdown, especially amidst accusations that Trump is trying to hide the Epstein files. He accused Trump of “gaslighting” as the shutdown affects food supplies for vulnerable populations.

Highlighting his commitment to addressing food insecurity exacerbated by the shutdown, Kimmel referenced his earlier announcement of the “Big, Beautiful Food Bank” – a jab at Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” – which is collecting food and donations for the St. Joseph Center and the Los Angeles Food Bank at the ABC show’s backlot.
