Germany Bans Muslim Group, Citing Threats to Democratic Values

Berlin – November 5, 2025 – The German government today announced a ban on the Muslim group “Muslim Interaktiv,” accusing it of promoting antisemitism, discrimination, and violating the country’s democratic values. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated the group posed a threat to the constitutional order by advocating for Islamic law to supersede German law, particularly concerning the treatment of women and minorities.

“We will respond with the full force of the law to anyone who aggressively calls for a caliphate on our streets, incites hatred against the state of Israel and Jews in an intolerable manner, and despises the rights of women and minorities,” Dobrindt declared.

Authorities conducted raids across multiple locations in Hamburg, Berlin, and Hesse in connection with investigations into two other Muslim groups, Generation Islam and Reality Islam. The Interior Ministry stated that Muslim Interaktiv actively opposes gender equality and freedom of sexual orientation, considering it incompatible with democracy and human rights.

The group’s online presence has reportedly been taken down, and they could not be reached for comment. The government maintains that Muslim Interaktiv sought to indoctrinate individuals to become “permanent enemies of the constitution” and undermine the constitutional order.

Summary:

Germany has banned Muslim Interaktiv, accusing the group of violating human rights and democratic values by promoting antisemitism, discriminating against women and minorities, and advocating for Islamic law over German law.
