Indian Professor Rajuru Ramakrishna Reddy Named Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry

ANANTAPUR, India – November 7, 2025 – Dr. Rajuru Ramakrishna Reddy, former UGC Emeritus Professor at Sri Krishnadevaraya University, has been appointed a Fellow of the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). The RSC, a UK-based learned society with over 55,000 members worldwide, is dedicated to advancing excellence in the chemical sciences.

“I am honored to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, which has more than 300 years of glorious history and is the oldest chemical society in the world,” said Dr. Reddy upon receiving the honor.

Dr. Reddy joins a distinguished group of around 55,000 Fellows and Foreign Members, including approximately 80 Nobel Laureates. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including a research award from the UGC in 1999, the Andhra Pradesh Best Teacher Award in 2005, and the Best Scientist and Fellowship Awards from India’s National Environmental Science Academy in 2006. Dr. Reddy also served as a UGC-BSR Faculty Fellow from 2012 to 2015 and held the UGC emeritus professorship from 2017 to 2019. He was also included in Stanford University’s list of the top 2% of scientists in the world for his contributions to materials science, spectroscopy, and environmental science. He spent 15 years as a visiting scholar at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune, India.
