Congress Party Launches Nationwide Campaign Against Alleged “Vote Chori”
Shivamogga, Karnataka – November 7, 2025 – The Congress party is launching a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about alleged “vote chori” (vote theft) during elections, according to a statement made today by MLC and KPCC working president Manjunath Bhandary.
Speaking at a press conference in Shivamogga, Mr. Bhandary stated that Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi has presented evidence of widespread vote theft which threatens the integrity of India’s democratic system.
The campaign will focus on educating the public on the issue and collecting five crore (50 million) signatures in support of the Congress party’s position. These signatures will be submitted to the President of India, bypassing the Election Commission due to the perception that the allegations are against the institution itself.
“There is no point in submitting a complaint to the accused,” Mr. Bhandary stated. “We will concentrate on spreading awareness… and submit our plea to the President.”
Mr. Bhandary also addressed recent comments made by BJP MP Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri regarding the national anthem. He accused the BJP leader of spreading false information and disrespecting the national anthem by claiming that “Jana Gana Mana” was originally written to welcome British officials.
Shivamogga District Congress Committee chairperson R. Prasanna Kumar and other party leaders were present at the press conference. The Congress party intends to mobilize its members across the country to actively participate in the signature campaign and promote awareness of the alleged vote theft.
