Parvathipuram Manyam, Andhra Pradesh – An Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus was destroyed by a fire this morning near Roddavalsa, approximately 20 km from Salur in Parvathipuram Manyam district.

According to Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) officials, the incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. A female passenger noticed smoke coming from the front of the bus (OD 10 S 6754, Ashok Leyland BS VI) and alerted the driver. The driver promptly evacuated the five passengers on board, ensuring their safety before the fire fully engulfed the vehicle. The bus was not air-conditioned.

“Thankfully, everyone is safe,” stated an APSRTC official. “The driver’s quick thinking averted a potential tragedy.”

The Salur Depot Manager has arrived at the scene, and a comprehensive report on the incident is expected shortly. Transport Minister M. Ramprasad has announced the formation of a committee, headed by a Regional Manager-level officer, to investigate the cause of the fire.

The incident caused a temporary disruption to traffic in the area. Authorities are working to clear the debris and restore normal traffic flow.
