Jelly Roll Alleges Discrimination at Sydney Louis Vuitton Store, Says He Was Treated Like a “Criminal”

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Grammy-nominated country music star Jelly Roll took to social media Wednesday to express his dismay after an alleged discriminatory experience at a Louis Vuitton store in Sydney, Australia. The “Save Me” singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, claimed he and his entourage were treated with suspicion and animosity by store employees.

“Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney, legitimately just treated us like we were finna [sic] come in and rob that place,” Jelly Roll said in a video posted to his social media accounts. “I have never been looked at more like a crim… Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad… I was an actual criminal this bad.”

Jelly Roll has been open about his troubled past, including serving over a year in prison for aggravated robbery and possession with intent to sell, stemming from an arrest at age 16. He credits the birth of his daughter as the turning point in his life, motivating him to leave behind a life of addiction and crime.

“I was the lowest common denominator in life, you know? I mean, I was scum of the Earth. I was a crack dealer. I was a horrible, horrible human,” Jelly Roll said during an appearance on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist in October 2024.

Despite his transformation and current success, Jelly Roll believes he was unfairly judged based on his appearance and past. His troubled past has been a point of discussion in interviews and even at the 2023 CMAs where he stated “I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for what I went through. I think it empowered me. I think it gave me my voice, he said at the 2023 CMAs.”

As of press time, Louis Vuitton has not responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
