Karnataka Women Entrepreneurs Get E-Commerce Boost Through Nasscom Foundation and ONDC Network Partnership
Bengaluru, November 6, 2025 – In a significant move to empower women-led businesses in Karnataka, the Nasscom Foundation and ONDC Network announced today the onboarding of 200 women-run firms from 22 districts onto the ONDC Network. This initiative is designed to bridge the digital divide and provide crucial digital expertise and access to online marketplaces, enabling these entrepreneurs to thrive in India’s rapidly expanding e-commerce landscape.
According to Jyoti Sharma, CEO of Nasscom Foundation, India’s e-commerce market is projected to become the second-largest globally by 2034, surpassing the U.S. However, many small and medium sellers, particularly women, lack the necessary digital skills to succeed online.
“By harnessing technology and skill development, we are providing these women entrepreneurs with a level playing field and access to sustainable market linkages, ultimately driving economic growth,” said Ms. Sharma.
The ONDC Network is expected to play a vital role in building capacities and empowering these 200 women entrepreneurs to seamlessly enter and flourish in online marketplaces.
“Through this collaboration with Nasscom Foundation, ONDC Network is providing the digital infrastructure that enables enterprises to access wider markets and strengthen their businesses,” stated Vibhor Jain, acting CEO and COO at ONDC.
The partnership between Nasscom Foundation and ONDC Network marks a significant step towards fostering inclusivity and driving economic growth by empowering women entrepreneurs in the digital economy.
