DDA Approves Rent Reimbursement for Displaced Signature View Apartment Residents

New Delhi, November 6, 2025: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced the approval of rent payments, with a 10% annual increase, for residents of Mukherjee Nagar’s Signature View Apartments (SVA) who were forced to vacate their homes due to structural safety concerns. The decision follows a Delhi High Court order issued in December 2024 directing the DDA to compensate the displaced families.

Rent payments will be retroactive to July 1, 2023, or the date of vacation, whichever is later. High-income group flat residents will receive ₹50,000 per month, while middle-income group residents will receive ₹38,000 per month. The rent will increase by 10% annually starting July 1, 2024. The DDA has assured that arrears will be disbursed to eligible residents by the 7th of the following month.

A dedicated camp office has been established to manage documentation, flat handovers, and provide relocation support. The DDA stated that rent payments are being processed in accordance with court directives.

Gaurav Pandey, general secretary of the SVA Welfare Association, welcomed the decision, noting that it provides much-needed relief to residents who have been paying rent out-of-pocket for the past two years.

The 12-tower complex was declared structurally unsafe by IIT Delhi in 2022, leading to the High Court’s demolition order and the directive for DDA to compensate the displaced residents until their flats are rebuilt.
