Belagavi, India – November 2, 2025 – The KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) Kannada Balaga celebrated the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava with a vibrant event held in Belagavi on Saturday. Students, teachers, and staff participated in the festivities, which included speeches highlighting the importance of the Kannada language and culture, and a captivating cultural program.
Officiating Vice-Chancellor of KAHER, N.S. Mahantashetti, the chief guest, praised the Kannada Balaga’s efforts in promoting Kannada awareness among the younger generation. She was also felicitated for her decade-long leadership of the organization. V.M. Pattanshetti, registrar of the KLE University, emphasized the linguistic heritage of Kannada, while V.D. Patil, director of KLE New Hospital and Projects, acknowledged the numerous programs undertaken by the Kannada Balaga.
A highlight of the celebration was a tableau created by students, bearing the slogan “Cancer or Life: May Your Choice Be Right.” The tableau depicted the effects of cancer and was paraded throughout the city, raising awareness about cancer prevention. The Kannada Balaga students also presented a dance performance showcasing Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage, while the KLE School of Music students performed traditional Kannada songs.
Rajesh S. Powar, principal of JNMC and honorary president of Kannada Balaga, presided over the event. Avinash Kavi, chairman of Kannada Balaga, welcomed the attendees and spoke about the glory of Kannada-Kannadiga-Karnataka. The event underscored the importance of preserving and promoting Kannada language and culture while also addressing important health issues.
