Mon Nov 03 09:00:00 UTC 2025: Gervonta “Tank” Davis Faces New Domestic Abuse Allegations Ahead of Exhibition Fight
Miami, FL – Just weeks before his highly anticipated exhibition fight with Jake Paul, boxing champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis is facing serious allegations of domestic violence. A civil lawsuit, filed in Miami-Dade County by his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel, accuses Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by ESPN, the alleged incident occurred early Monday morning at Tootsies, a Miami gentlemen’s club where Rossel works. The lawsuit alleges Davis attacked Rossel in a back room, dragged her through the club, and physically assaulted her in the parking garage. Rossel claims their five-month relationship was marked by repeated instances of domestic violence, abuse, and threats, including two instances where Davis allegedly threatened to kill her.
The lawsuit details alleged incidents dating back to September, including accusations of Davis choking Rossel in public at a Miami restaurant after accusing her of infidelity. Following the most recent alleged attack, Rossel claims Davis sent her a threatening text message, causing her to fear for her safety and forcing her to seek shelter with others.
Rossel is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and is requesting a jury trial. Her attorney, Jeffery Chukwuma, confirmed a report was filed with the Miami Gardens Police Department.
This lawsuit follows a previous domestic violence case against Davis, which was dropped two months ago. Davis also has a history of legal troubles, including charges related to domestic violence and fleeing the scene of a car accident. He recently served a 90-day house arrest sentence and is currently on probation for a 2023 hit-and-run case.
Representatives for Davis have not yet responded to requests for comment. ESPN also reached out to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions to inquire if the lawsuit will affect the upcoming exhibition fight, scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, but have not received a response.
