Stampede at Andhra Pradesh Temple Leaves Nine Dead, Many Injured

Kashibugga, Andhra Pradesh – A tragic stampede at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kashibugga, Andhra Pradesh, has claimed the lives of at least nine devotees and left many others injured. The incident occurred this morning as hundreds gathered to observe “Karthika Ekadashi,” a significant and auspicious day in the Hindu calendar.

The stampede prompted swift reactions from national and state leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow and announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu described the incident as “tragic” and “heartbreaking.” He stated he had instructed officials to ensure prompt and adequate medical care for the injured and directed local authorities and representatives to oversee relief efforts.

State Minister Nara Lokesh conveyed his shock and grief over the incident.
