“That’s almost unbelievable,” Liverpool manager Arne Slot said of Salah’s milestone. “And what I also liked is that he didn’t only do his offensive work really well, but he helped the team out defensively as well”

Salah was equally proud of the achievement, telling TNT Sports, “It’s a great feeling to score goals and win trophies for this big club. It’s something I don’t take for granted. I’m so proud.”

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery defended his team’s tactics despite the costly error leading to the opening goal. “We try to play with personality and through our rules… We must avoid huge mistakes like today.”

The defeat brings Villa’s four-game winning run to an end and leaves them in the bottom half of the table. To add to their woes, Tyrone Mings suffered a hamstring injury late in the game, leaving Villa with 10 players for the final minutes.
