On Sunday, prominent figures including Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar were spotted meeting with citizens during their morning strolls.
The leaders seized the opportunity to share their parties’ agendas and solicit support for their respective candidates. BRS local leaders and MLAs have also been assigned responsibilities for various divisions, for the poll campaign, also hit the roads early in the morning to interact with walkers and residents.
This informal strategy is proving popular, with many walkers engaging in lively conversations with the politicians. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar lauded the method as “cost-effective and people-friendly,” allowing for direct connection without large gatherings. Walkers also shared suggestions on governance and local development.
During his morning walk at Krishnakant Park, Kishan Reddy appealed to voters to elect BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy, asserting the BJP’s ability to address local issues. Simultaneously, Mahesh Kumar Goud and Ponnam Prabhakar were present at the same park and urged walkers to vote for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav. Prabhakar emphasized the development of Jubilee Hills being possible only under a Congress government. Goud highlighted Naveen Yadav’s local ties and commitment to public service. Marri Rajshekhar Reddy, Malkajgiri MLA, who is campaigning for the BRS candidate Maganti Suneeta, emphasized the benefit to both politician and citizens as a good mix of fitness and politics.
This direct engagement approach reflects an evolving political landscape, where informal, community-based interactions are gaining traction as a means of voter outreach.
