Sun Nov 02 04:40:00 UTC 2025: ## India and South Africa to Clash in Historic Women’s Cricket World Cup Final

Navi Mumbai, India – In a historic first, the Women’s Cricket World Cup final will feature neither Australia nor England as India and South Africa prepare to battle it out for the coveted title at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2nd. This marks a golden opportunity for Team India to etch their name in history and claim their first-ever ODI World Cup trophy.

South Africa is set to play their first-ever World Cup Final in this format. While India has reached the finals twice before, in 2005 and 2017, they fell short of the title on both occasions.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and the Women in Blue look to leverage their home advantage, having won all three of their previous matches at the DY Patil Stadium. The team seems to have found a winning combination, boasting batting depth down to number 8 and six bowling options. The only decision the team must make is wheter to play Radha Yadav or Sneh Rana in the match.

South Africa, led by Laura Wolvaardt, faces the challenge of playing in front of a roaring Indian crowd and on a ground where they haven’t played yet in this tournament. Opener Tazmin Brits is set to play despite a shoulder injury scare.

Potential Playing XI:

  • India: Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Sneh Rana/Radha Yadav, Kranti Gaur, Shree Charani, Renuka Singh Thakur
  • South Africa: Laura Wolvaardt (c), Tazmin Brits, Sune Luus, Anneke Bosch/Anneri Dercksen, Marizanne Kapp, Sinalo Jafta (wk), Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, Ayabonga Khaka, Nonkululeko Mlaba.

Cricket fans worldwide eagerly anticipate witnessing the birth of a new ODI World Champion as India and South Africa compete in the final.
