Sun Nov 02 03:00:00 UTC 2025: Blue Jays Manager Schneider Dismisses Snell’s “Unlucky” Claims After World Series Game 5
Los Angeles, CA – Following the Toronto Blue Jays’ dominant victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series, Blue Jays manager John Schneider has responded to Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell’s post-game comments. Snell, who allowed five earned runs for the second consecutive start, attributed his struggles to “unlucky” plays, including two home runs on his first three pitches and a triple with a low exit velocity.
“I mean, they didn’t really get to me…it’s just unlucky,” Snell said after the game.
Schneider, however, defended his team’s performance and dismissed Snell’s excuses. “No,” Schneider stated when asked about Snell’s comments. “I thought [Davis Schneider] does what he is good at, Vladimir [Guerrero Jr.] is one of the best players in the game, and I thought we really made him work. He’s a great pitcher. I’m worried about tomorrow, Game 6 here. Yamamoto’s an even tougher task. So we led the league in hitting this year. I don’t think we’re too bad.”
The Blue Jays’ offense has been a force to be reckoned with throughout the series, and they capitalized on Snell’s pitches in Game 5. A pair of early home runs, a Dalton Varsho triple, and an Ernie Clement sacrifice fly contributed to their victory.
The Dodgers now face elimination in Game 6, having only scored three runs over their last two games. They will look to Yoshinobu Yamamoto to turn the tide and force a decisive Game 7.
Adding to the drama surrounding the series, rapper Drake also took a shot at Shohei Ohtani after the Blue Jays’ Game 5 win.
In other news, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts took a fall during a pre-Game 6 race against Hyeseong Kim, further adding to the team’s woes.
Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at 5:00 p.m. PT. The Dodgers will need a significant offensive resurgence to extend their season.
