LERONA, WV (November 1, 2025) – Residents of Lerona and Wytheville are mourning the loss of several community members as a partly to mostly cloudy day settles over the region. The high today is expected to reach 54°F with west-northwest winds at 5-10 mph. Tonight will bring cloudy skies and a low near 40°F with light and variable winds.

Among those recently departed is Virginia Brinkley Mullins Terry, 90, of Lerona. She passed away on October 28th at Rockin’ Chair Residential Care. Born February 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James Green Brinkley and Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Shutt.

Also recently deceased was a 68-year-old from Wytheville, VA, a native of Bluefield, WV, who passed away on October 9th. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30th, at Wytheville Baptist Church.
