KOTTAYAM, INDIA – November 1, 2025, 8:46 PM IST – The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam celebrated its seventh convocation ceremony on Saturday, marking a significant milestone for 328 graduating students. A total of 279 BTech, 43 MTech, and 6 PhD students received their degrees in a ceremony presided over by Vijayalakshmi Deshmane, Chairperson of the Board of Governors.

V. Narayanan, Secretary of the Department of Space and Chairman of the Space Commission and ISRO, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Jijo G. John, CEO of Calpine Group, served as the guest of honor. IIIT Kottayam’s Director (in-charge) Prasad Krishna and Registrar M. Radhakrishnan were also in attendance.

The convocation recognized exceptional academic performance with the presentation of gold medals to top students in each M.Tech and B.Tech program. Notable awardees included Ijas A. H. and Abhishek Suman in M.Tech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science), Salini K. S. and Sreelakshmi K. S. in M.Tech (Cyber Security), and Saju S. in M.Tech (Big Data and Machine Learning). Among the B.Tech graduates, Konyala Anish Reddy and Keerthana Menon excelled in Computer Science and Engineering, while S. J.
