LOS ANGELES, CA – Actor Liam Hemsworth, 35, has confirmed his engagement to Australian model Gabriella Brooks, 29. The news comes after weeks of speculation fueled by an Instagram photo posted by Brooks, which featured a diamond ring.

Hemsworth revealed the happy news during an interview on the Today show Monday, October 27th. “I’m incredibly excited,” he told host Savannah Guthrie when asked about the engagement.

This will be Hemsworth’s second marriage. He was previously married to pop star Miley Cyrus, whom he met on the set of the 2010 film “The Last Song.” The couple married in December 2018 but Hemsworth filed for divorce in August 2019, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in January 2020.

While Hemsworth remained tight-lipped about the details of the proposal, he did clarify that it did not take place in the Maldives, despite online rumors. “We went there recently,” he said. “I finished shooting about three weeks ago and went straight to a tropical island and let my hair down, or took my hair off,” he joked, referencing his role on “The Witcher,” adding “But no, we’re super excited. It’s a happy time in life.”

Hemsworth and Cyrus’s split was highly publicized, with both parties addressing the matter on social media. Cyrus denied rumors of infidelity and expressed her continued affection for Hemsworth, stating, “I love Liam and always will.” In a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone, Cyrus reflected on their relationship, describing a time when she appeared to be living a fairytale, but was struggling with substance abuse and personal fulfillment.

Hemsworth seems to have found happiness again with Brooks. No wedding date has been announced.
