“The Rainmaker” Renewed for Season 2 on USA Network

October 26, 2024 – Following a successful first season, USA Network has announced the renewal of its legal drama “The Rainmaker” for a second season. The series, an adaptation of the John Grisham novel, captivated audiences with its compelling courtroom battles and complex characters.

Season one followed rookie lawyer Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) as he tackled a high-stakes case against a powerful healthcare corporation. The season finale aired October 17th, concluding a storyline filled with twists and turns involving ex-girlfriends, former bosses, and a ragtag legal team led by Bruiser (Lana Parrilla).

“The verdict is in,” stated Versant president Val Boreland. “The Rainmaker is returning for Season 2 on USA Network. We’re thrilled to build on the momentum and deliver another compelling chapter of this gripping legal drama.”

The renewal comes as no surprise, given the show’s strong ratings. “The Rainmaker” averaged 1.3 million viewers across its nine episodes, becoming the most-watched new series for the network in years. The finale marked the most-viewed freshman series in seven years.

Showrunner Michael Seitzman is set to return for season two. While details remain scarce, Seitzman is contemplating bringing back familiar faces. “I really love these characters, so, it’s very hard to say goodbye to them,” he said. “I also really love the actors who played the characters.”

Milo Callaghan has expressed enthusiasm for returning, stating, “I’m here for seven seasons, so let’s go!” Lana Parrilla has also voiced her desire to delve deeper into her character’s personal life.

Season 2 of “The Rainmaker” is slated to air on USA Network in 2026. Stay tuned for further updates on casting and plot details.
