Sun Oct 26 16:00:00 UTC 2025: ## New ‘Predator: Badlands’ Trailer Unleashes Redemption Tale, Alien Universe Link

HOLLYWOOD, CA – The Predator universe is set to expand once again with “Predator: Badlands,” hitting theaters November 7, 2025. This marks the first theatrical release in the franchise since 2018’s “The Predator,” following the success of the animated anthology film “Predator: Killer of Killers” and the critically acclaimed prequel “Prey.”

But “Badlands” isn’t just another entry; it’s a bold new direction. The film introduces Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a Yautja (Predator) outcast deemed the runt of his clan. Abandoned on a hostile planet, he forms an unlikely alliance with Thia (Elle Fanning), a synthetic human.

What makes Thia particularly intriguing? She’s a creation of Weyland-Yutani, the infamous corporation from the Alien franchise. Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the company logo in the trailer, confirming a direct link between the Predator and Alien universes, previously relegated to non-canon crossovers.

Director Dan Trachtenberg, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, confirmed the deliberate connection. “It was my idea to make Dek’s companion a Weyland-Yutani synthetic,” he stated, hinting at the dynamic between the two characters. “They are a pretty interesting and bizarre pairing for each other, and that’s a huge part of the fun of the movie is their chemistry.”

“Predator: Badlands” arrives after a period of significant success for the franchise. “Predator: Killer of Killers” dominated Hulu’s streaming charts and garnered a 95% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Prey,” set in the 18th century, became Hulu’s most successful premiere ever and was lauded as one of the best-reviewed Predator films, boasting a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

With the Yautja outcast seeking redemption alongside a Weyland-Yutani synthetic, “Predator: Badlands” promises a fresh and exciting chapter in the iconic franchise. To catch up on the Predator storyline before the film’s release, check out recap videos online.
