Sun Oct 26 17:20:00 UTC 2025: Giants Fined $200K for Concussion Protocol Violation; Daboll and Skattebo Also Penalized

East Rutherford, NJ – The NFL has slapped the New York Giants with a $200,000 fine for violating concussion protocol during their Week 6 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Head Coach Brian Daboll was also fined $100,000, and running back Cam Skattebo $15,000 for conduct detrimental to the league.

The penalties stem from an incident involving Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who exited the game late in the third quarter after a sack. While the NFL and NFL Players Association (NFLPA) review concluded that the Giants medical staff followed proper procedure in assessing Dart, Daboll and Skattebo entered the medical tent during Dart’s evaluation. According to the NFL and NFLPA, this action created the perception of interference and violated the protocol, which restricts tent access to essential medical personnel only.

While the league acknowledged the actions had no impact on the medical exam, they called the behavior inconsistent with league rules. Daboll apologized after the game, stating he simply wanted to check on his quarterback.

The Giants have taken immediate steps to prevent future violations, including additional training for staff and players. The fines come as the Giants (2-5) prepare for a rematch against the Eagles (5-2) this Sunday in Philadelphia.
