HYDERABAD, October 26, 2025 – India is doubling down on its commitment to defense self-reliance (“Atmanirbharata”) through a focused drive on innovation in weapon systems, according to NITI Aayog member V. K. Saraswat. He made these remarks at the “INSPIRE 2025” workshop held in Hyderabad today. The workshop, organized by DRDL (Defence Research and Development Laboratory), brought together leading scientists, engineers, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss strategies for transforming indigenous technological capabilities into commercially viable, production-ready solutions.
DRDO Chairman Samir V. Kamat echoed Saraswat’s sentiments, highlighting the critical role of cutting-edge Research and Development (R&D) and innovation in achieving the nation’s goal of “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047.
The INSPIRE 2025 workshop featured exhibitions from over 25 public and private organizations, showcasing state-of-the-art technologies and systems.
