Sun Oct 26 02:40:00 UTC 2025: Dodgers Even World Series with 5-1 Victory Over Blue Jays in Toronto
TORONTO – The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 on Wednesday night to even the World Series at 1-1. A masterful performance by Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who pitched a four-hitter, silenced the Rogers Centre crowd after the Blue Jays’ Game 1 offensive explosion.
Yamamoto, shook off a shaky first inning to retire 20 consecutive batters. Will Smith’s go-ahead home run in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie and ended a string of 17 straight outs for Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman, who pitched brilliantly but ultimately fell victim to two costly swings from Smith and Max Muncy.
Muncy followed Smith with a solo homer of his own in the seventh. The Dodgers added two more runs in the eighth, giving Yamamoto comfortable lead to close out the game.
The series now shifts to Los Angeles for the next three games. The Dodgers will look to capitalize on their Game 2 momentum as they return home.
