South Texas Braces for Severe Weather: Heavy Rain, Lightning, and Possible Hail Expected
San Antonio, TX – October 25, 2025 – South Texas residents should prepare for a day of volatile weather as KSAT Weather Authority meteorologists Justin Horne, Shelby Ebertowski, and Adam Caskey are forecasting intermittent heavy rain, frequent lightning, and possible strong to severe thunderstorms through Saturday.
The first wave of storms is expected to move through the region between 12 AM and 9 AM on Saturday. While a break in the weather is anticipated during the late morning, scattered storm development is expected to redevelop in the afternoon and evening.
“Localized high gusts and hail are possible with these storms,” warned KSAT meteorologists. “It’s impossible to pinpoint the exact location of hail until the storms actually form.”
Residents with outdoor plans for Saturday are advised not to cancel them outright but to remain vigilant and monitor the weather closely.
Looking ahead, the KSAT Weather Authority team is forecasting a welcome change as cooler temperatures are expected to arrive by midweek. Sunrise temperatures will dip into the 50s, with afternoon highs settling in the 70s, signaling the arrival of fall.
KSAT 12 News will continue to provide updates throughout the day.
