Toronto, ON – The 2025 World Series, presented by Capital One, is set to begin tonight at Rogers Centre as the Los Angeles Dodgers face off against the Toronto Blue Jays. In addition to the highly anticipated on-field action, Major League Baseball has announced a series of ceremonial and off-field activities planned for Games One and Two, showcasing the league’s commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

The ceremonial first pitches will feature [insert list here]. A poignant Stand Up To Cancer moment, a tradition for MLB, SU2C, and Mastercard, will take place after the fifth inning of Game Two. This year, Mastercard’s SU2C ambassadors, the Jonas Brothers, will participate in the placard moment alongside players, coaches, umpires, and fans, all honoring loved ones affected by cancer. The Jonas Brothers will also perform Mastercard’s SU2C campaign anthem, “I Can’t Lose,” in a special in-stadium tribute.

As part of the MLB Together program, the league is investing in the Toronto community. A $50,000 donation will be made to Variety Village, an organization providing inclusive fitness and recreation programs for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, over 100 youth participants from MLB-led community programs will be celebrated at Game Two, attending a special PLAY BALL event and being recognized during pregame ceremonies.

The Jennie Finch Empowerment Award presented by ARM & HAMMER will honor four young women for their leadership on and off the softball field. Each recipient, all participants in MLB-led softball programs, will receive a $10,000 scholarship, totaling a $40,000 donation from Church & Dwight. Forty-six youth baseball and softball athletes will also be recognized as finalists in the Pitch, Hit & Run competition.

Game ball delivery honors have been given to alumni of BGC Canada. Titobi, from BGC East Scarborough, will deliver the Game One ball, while Ximena, from the Boys & Girls Club of McAllen, will do the honors for Game Two.

MLB is also committed to environmental responsibility, incorporating eco-friendly features and activities throughout the World Series. Furthermore, in partnership with KultureCity, MLB and the Toronto Blue Jays are ensuring a sensory inclusive experience at Rogers Centre, providing sensory bags and a designated Sensory Room for fans who may experience sensory overload.

Game One coverage begins tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes and ESPN Radio in the U.S. Sportsnet TV and Radio and TVA Sports will provide live national coverage in Canada.
