Sat Oct 25 12:23:49 UTC 2025: India Dominate Australia in Final ODI, Australia Clinch Series

Sydney, Australia – India salvaged pride in the final One Day International against Australia, securing a dominant 9-wicket victory at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. However, the win wasn’t enough to prevent Australia from claiming the series 2-1, having won the first two matches.

Rohit Sharma led the charge with a masterful unbeaten 121, his 33rd ODI century, while Virat Kohli contributed a solid 74 not out as India chased down Australia’s target of 237 in just 38.3 overs.

Earlier in the day, Australia, having won the toss and elected to bat, were bowled out for 236. While the hosts looked comfortable at 183 for 3, a disciplined bowling performance from the Indian side, spearheaded by Harshit Rana’s impressive 4 for 39, saw them collapse. Rana’s performance was a testament to the faith shown in him by India head coach Gautam Gambhir. Despite the strong Indian performance today, the series victory belongs to Australia.
