Sat Oct 25 06:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Assassin’s Creed Shadows Stalks Nintendo Switch 2 This December

REDMOND, WA – Ubisoft’s controversial action-adventure title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2nd, the publisher announced this week. The arrival marks a significant milestone for Nintendo, leveraging the increased processing power of its new console to bring formerly unattainable third-party titles to its fanbase.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which launched earlier this year on other platforms, joins a growing list of graphically demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, Star Wars Outlaws, Madden NFL 26, and Street Fighter 6 now playable on a Nintendo console. The move is made possible by the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware, a stark contrast to the original Switch’s limitations.

Players will be able to purchase the Standard Edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows for $59.99, with a Premium Edition priced at $99.99. The game also features cross-progression, allowing players to seamlessly continue their progress from other platforms on the Switch 2.

While the game garnered a respectable 81/100 Metacritic score, reception has been mixed. Some critics and players found Shadows to be a step back from previous installments like Odyssey and Valhalla, criticizing its open-world Japan setting for feeling underwhelming.

Despite these criticisms, Ubisoft assures Switch 2 owners that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been optimized for the console, performing well in both handheld and TV modes. The game will also feature touch controls for simplified menu navigation.

With the holiday season approaching, the arrival of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Nintendo Switch 2 offers players a new open-world experience to dive into, but potential buyers are advised to consider the game’s mixed reception before making a purchase.
