Headline: BRS Leader Accuses Congress of Betraying Unemployed Youth in Telangana
Hyderabad, October 24, 2025 (The Hindu): Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao has launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing them of failing to deliver on promises made to unemployed youth during the 2023 Assembly elections.
Speaking at a meeting in Hyderabad on Friday, Mr. Rao released a “nirudyoga baki card” (debt card on promises to unemployed youth), highlighting what he termed the Congress party’s broken pledges. He specifically called out Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, AICC leader Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, accusing them of using unemployed youth as “use and throw” material.
According to Mr. Rao, Congress leaders promised to fill 2 lakh government jobs in the first year of their term, issue a job calendar, and conduct a mega DSC (District Selection Committee) exam every year for teacher recruitment. However, he alleges that these promises have been left unfulfilled.
“The AICC leaders held a meeting with the unemployed youth in Saroor Nagar stadium and were taken into confidence by promising to fill vacancies in the government jobs every year. In case the AICC leaders and TPCC leaders, including the Chief Minister have guts to face the unemployed youth, they must revisit the coaching centres in Ashok Nagar and Chikkadpally City Central Library and see how they would be treated,” Mr. Rao stated.
He further criticized the government for prioritizing liquor shop license tenders over employment notifications, and for failing to provide financial support to 5 lakh unemployed youth for self-employment as promised on June 2nd.
Mr. Rao urged unemployed youth to “teach a lesson” to the Congress government by defeating their candidate in the upcoming Jubilee Hills byelection. He warned that a defeat in Jubilee Hills would demonstrate to Rahul Gandhi the consequences of deceiving the youth.
