Sat Oct 25 13:00:00 UTC 2025: Falcons Face Injury Concerns Ahead of Dolphins Matchup
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Atlanta Falcons are dealing with a series of injuries as they prepare to host the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. An estimated injury report, compiled due to the team holding walkthroughs instead of a full practice Wednesday, reveals concerns at key positions.
Rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is listed as a limited participant with a bone bruise on his left knee. Despite the injury, Penix remains optimistic, stating, “I feel good right now… Yes, that’s the plan,” when asked if he anticipates playing.
Running back Tyler Allgeier is also listed as limited with a hip/knee injury sustained during Sunday night’s loss to the 49ers. He was evaluated on the field after a hit but returned to the game.
Other limited participants include wide receiver Darnell Mooney (hamstring), offensive tackle Jake Matthews (ankle), and defensive tackle Zach Harrison (knee).
The Falcons will continue to be without defensive rookies Jalon Walker (groin) and Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring), both of whom missed Sunday’s game. Bowman’s absence marks his second consecutive week sidelined.
Adding to the woes, inside linebacker Divine Deablo is expected to be out for an extended period after fracturing his forearm against the 49ers.
There was some positive news, however, as the team opened offensive tackle Storm Norton’s 21-day window to return from injured reserve. Norton had foot surgery before the season and was placed on IR with the designation to return.
Despite the injuries, the Falcons boast a top-10 offense in many statistical categories and lead the league in pass defense, allowing only 141.2 passing yards per game.
The Falcons will host the Miami Dolphins at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
