MANGALURU, October 25, 2025 – Kasturi Prabhakar Pai, a prominent businessman and respected community figure in Mangaluru, passed away on Saturday at a private hospital following a brief illness. He was 75 years old.

Born on October 26, 1950, Mr. Pai was a lifelong resident of Mangaluru. He received his early education at Canara High School (Main) before pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Manipal Engineering College (now MIT, Manipal). He furthered his education with an MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Upon his return to India, Mr. Pai joined the Kasturi Group of Concerns, a family enterprise where he initially managed the manufacturing division focused on fish meal and fish oil production. More recently, he led Quest Marketing & Services, a wholesale dealership specializing in automobile spares and cement. He was also involved in transportation and ready-mix concrete pumping, and served as a director of Benchem Corporation and Aspa Logistics Pvt. Ltd.

Beyond his business ventures, Mr. Pai was deeply involved in the local community. He served as the president of the Dakshina Kannada Automobile and Tyre Dealers Association since 2017, following prior roles as secretary and vice-president.
