Yonkers Gas Station Strikes Gold, Sells Three $1 Million Powerball Tickets
YONKERS, NY – October 25, 2024 – V&C Taneja Inc., a gas station on Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers, is buzzing with excitement after selling not one, but three second-prize winning Powerball tickets for the October 20th drawing. Each ticket is worth a cool $1 million.
The New York Lottery confirmed the incredible stroke of luck, sending a wave of lottery fever through the neighborhood. On Wednesday, customers flocked to the gas station, eager to try their luck and speculate about the fortunate winners.
“We had a lot of customers today, and a lot of regular customers playing extra because today is the Powerball drawing,” said Shahid Shah, the store’s manager. “They are trying their luck today.”
The winners matched all five white ball numbers – 32, 38, 66, 67, and 69 – but missed the red Powerball, narrowly missing out on the jackpot.
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing climbed to an estimated $305 million because of no one hitting all of the numbers.
